Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the partial relationship between knowledge, skills, motivation, distance of residence, and facilities with the performance of livestock counseling and determine the relationship between the performance of livestock extension workers with the success of beef cattle breeding in Kuantan Singingi Regency.

The study was conducted by survey method. Extension instructors are all livestock extension agents in Kuantan Singingi Regency while respondents in the breeders are selected purposively in each working area of the extension agent. Analysis of the data used is the Spearman level (rs) level correlation coefficient test.

The results of the study showed that the relationship between animal husbandry extension workers was positively related to and significantly affected knowledge, whereas skills, motivation, attitudes, distance of residence and facilities had no significant effect but had a positive relationship.

The performance of the farmer instructor is positively related and does not significantly affect the success of the farmer in developing his livestock business in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This requires the instructor to improve their knowledge, skills and attitudes in helping the farmer to improve his farm business so as to increase the income and welfare of the farmer in general and enhance its role in changing the behavior of its targets. The government is expected to improve facilities to support extension activities in Kuantan Singingi Regency and assist in the availability of technology in animal husbandry.
