PERAN LABORATORIUM DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PENDIDIKAN DI UNIVERSITAS ISLAM NEGERI SULTAN SYARIF KASIM RIAU
Abstract
Laboratories are facilities and infrastructure available in several institutions, one of which is educational institutions, which are used as places to conduct experiments and research related to certain fields of science such as chemistry. Laboratories have a role in improving the quality of education through real practice to prove theories studied in class, one of which is in the Chemistry Education study program at UIN Suska Riau. The aim of this research is to find out the role of laboratories in improving the quality of education at UIN Suska Riau. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques being interviews and observation. The results of the research show that the Chemistry Education laboratory services at UIN Suska Riau are very good and students are satisfied with the services provided, apart from that the lecturers or expert assistants are also skilled in their fields so they can increase students’ understanding, the media used are practicum videos and quizzes, and the learning process and practicums take place effectively and efficiently. So it can be concluded that the role of laboratories is very functional to improve the quality of education.
