Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of the village of Koto Taluk, Kuantan Tengah District which is close to the location of the Bank Syariah Teluk Kuantan. With the majority of the Koto Taluk village community being Muslim, the interest of the Koto Taluk village community to transact at Bank Syariah is still lacking. Koto Taluk villagers prefer to transact using Conventional Bank services compared to Bank Syariah services.             This study aims to determine what factors influence the interest of the Koto Taluk village community to save at the Bank Syariah Teluk Kuantan and the most dominant factor affecting the interest of the Koto Taluk Village community to save at the Bank Syariah Teluk Kuantan. This research is a qualitative research. Qualitative research in this study is a technique used in a way that after the data has been collected it is classified into two groups of data, qualitative data and quantitative data. The qualitative data is described in words or sentences, while the quantitative data is presented with numbers and separated to reach a conclusion.             The results of this study indicate that the factors that influence the interest of the people of Koto Taluk village to save in Bank Syariah are the knowledge factor, namely the lack of information obtained by the Koto Taluk village community about Bank Syariah, the service factor is still limited access to the Bank Syariah network, and the location factor is the location of Bank Syariah which are only still centralized in the city center and have not yet reached the villages. While the most dominant factor affecting the interest of the Koto Taluk villagers to save in Bank Syariah is the knowledge factor. Making a customer decision to use a product and a Bank Syariah service always begins with the information the customer has regarding the service. The more information provided by the Bank Syariah, the more understanding and knowledge of the public about Bank Syariah so that they are interested in making transactions using Bank Syariah services.
