Abstract

Money is an inseparable part of the pulse of people's economic life. The economic stability of a country's economic growth is determined by the extent to which the role of money in the economy by society and the monetary authoritarian. The meaning of counterfeit currency itself is currency that is printed or made by certain individuals or syndicates with the aim of the counterfeit currency that has been printed according to its value accordingly. The problem is what are the factors causing the criminal act of spreading counterfeit money in the Kuantan Mudik Police Legal Area. For this writing, the writer used the sociological empirical legal research method by conducting a survey, while the nature of the research was descriptive with a purposive sampling technique using population and samples where the sample method used was interview and document study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the factors causing the crime of spreading counterfeit money are due to economic factors, environmental factors, low levels of education, law enforcement of the criminal act of spreading counterfeit money in the Kuantan Mudik police jurisdiction in general, the handling procedure is the same as in general criminal cases. other. As for the actions taken by the Kuantan Mudik Sector Police in eradicating the criminal act of distributing counterfeit money, namely in the form of repressive actions, namely conducting investigations, arrests, detention, searches and confiscation
