Abstract

Narcotics are substances or drugs derived from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semi-synthetic, which can cause a decrease or change in consciousness, loss of taste, reduce to eliminate pain, and can cause dependence. The social impact of narcotics abuse by children is not only caused by the consequences that will give birth to suffering and destruction both physically and mentally for a very long time, but also because of the complexity in overcoming it, especially when the choice falls on the use of criminal law as a means. The problem in this research is how is the application of material criminal law to children as perpetrators of narcotics abuse in the Drug Investigation Unit at the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police? and What is the modus operandi of criminal acts against child perpetrators of narcotics abuse at the Drug Investigation Unit at the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police? For this writing, the author uses a sociological legal research method, the nature of this research is observational research, namely by means of a survey. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the modus operandi used in committing the crime of Narcotics Abuse by Children in the Drug Investigation Unit at the Kuantan Singingi Resort Police is the modus operandi used by the suspect with a neat modus operandi, namely utilizing the most recent and sophisticated technological developments in the telecommunications sector. and transportation.
