Abstract

The expansion of the village is basically a process of dividing the village area into more than one area on the basis of community initiatives by taking into account the origins and customs and socio-culture of the local community, with the aim of improving services and accelerating development. The type of research used is a research based on the level of descriptive explanation, while the research method used is a combined research method between qualitative research and quantitative research. Based on the analysis of new village expansion in jake village, kuantan tengah district, kuantan singingi regency, it can be said that the people of jake village strongly agree if jake village is suitable for village expansion because jake village has fulfilled the procedures and requirements for village expansion as stated in article 8 of law no. 6 of 2014 concerning villages.
