Abstract

Competency is the work ability of each individual which includes aspects of knowledge, skills and work attitudes that are in accordance with the expected standardization. This research was carried out in Petai Baru Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research explains the competency of village officials in carrying out government administration in Petai Baru Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The formulation of the problem in this research is the competency of village officials in carrying out government administration in Petai Baru Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The technique for determining the sample that the researcher used was Purposive Sampling. Namely determining the sample with certain considerations, which are closely related to the research objectives. Nine people were selected as samples, namely the Village Head, Village Secretary, Head of Affairs, Section Head, Head of the District, and Staff. The data analysis used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis, namely the data obtained will be discussed thoroughly based on the facts that occurred, then compared with concepts and theories that support the discussion of the problems in this research and then come to generally accepted conclusions. From the results of the research it can be concluded that the Competence of Village Apparatus in Petai Baru Village, Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is in the "Quite Good" category, which can be seen from the answers to interviews with informants. Therefore, the author hopes that village officials will further improve their competence so that the services provided will become even better.
