Abstract

Traditional markets have a special position in the Indonesian government because their existence is the center of the community's economy, the dependence of small traders on the existence of traditional markets makes the government as a regulator need to protect and empower the market. This study aims to analyze the role of the village head in the management of the Teratak Air Hitam market in Jalur Patah Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The market is one of the important aspects in the village economy, functioning as a meeting center between sellers and buyers. The village head has strategic responsibilities in market management, which include planning, organizing, supervising, and developing infrastructure. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with interview and observation techniques. Based on the results of the study regarding the Role of the Village Head in the Management of the Teratak Air Hitam Market in Jalur Patah Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is quite good.
