Abstract

Disability is a condition of physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory limitations experienced by an individual over a long period that can cause barriers and difficulties in fully and effectively participating in community life. Disability is not only an individual issue but also a social issue that requires support and adjustments from the surrounding environment. The aim of this research is to understand the role of the Social Service for Community Empowerment and Villages in empowering persons with disabilities in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research was conducted at the Social Service for Community Empowerment and Village of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research method used is qualitative research, with data collection techniques being interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the research findings, it is known that the role of the Social Service for Community Empowerment and Village in empowering persons with disabilities in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi Regency has been good; the Social Service has had a positive impact on improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi Regency
