PARTISIPASI PEDAGANG DALAM MEMBAYAR ZAKAT PERDAGANGAN DI BAZNAS KABUPATEN KUANTAN SINGINGI

Abstract

The result of research showed that from 197 merchants in Kelurahan Pasar Taluk Kuantan, 39 merchants paid the trading zakat to BAZNAS Kuantan Singingi in 2015. In 2016 the number of the merchants who paid trading zakat decreased to be 24, and in 2017 increased to be 34. It can be seen that the merchants’ participation in paying the zakat to the BAZNAS Kuantan Singingi was still low. Some factors which made the merchants were willing to pay their trading zakat to BAZNAS because BAZNAS is a legal institution, it is an appeal from the government and equal distribution by BAZNAS. On orther hand, there were also some factors that inhibited the merchants to pay the zakat; the trust, the BAZNAS credibility is still doubted by the merchants, and the muzakis who had not fully comprehended the trading zakat, and the lack of merchants awareness to pay the zakat to BAZNAS Kuantan Singingi.
