Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the relationship of body size to body weight and weight of Brahman Cross (BX) male cattle carcass in the slaughterhouse of Pekanbaru City. This research has been carried out for one month from February 27 to March 28, 2018. In Slaughter House (RPH) Pekanbaru. The tools and research materials used to measure the size of Brahman Cross (BX) male cow body are measuring tape, measuring stick, carcass scales. the material used is 30 male Brahman Cross (BX) cows. The research method used is survey method by measuring and weighing directly and the data obtained is tabulated with mean value, standard deviation and coefficient of variation, then analyzed using spss. There was no statistically significant correlation (P> 0,05) between body length and body weight with equation Y = 434,526 + 0,752X with r = 0,074% and R2 subangsi = 0,5%. There were statistically significant correlation (P <0,05) between chest circumference and body weight with the equation Y = 560,388 + 5,187X with closeness r = 70,5% and R2 subangsi equal to 49,6%. There was no statistically significant correlation (P> 0,05) between body length and carcass weight with equation Y = 276,585 + 0,060X with r = 0,19% and R2 subangsi by 0.000%. There were statistically significant correlation (P <0,05) between chest circumference and carcass weight with the equation Y = -195,678 + 2,239X with r = 0,967% and R2 subangsi of 0,556%.
