Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

The study aimed to determine the estimation of Body Condition Scoring (BCS) on Body Weight, Carcass Weight and Percentage of Brahman Cross Cow Carcass (BX) in Pekanbaru City Animal Slaughterhouse. The study was carried out from 27 February to 28 March 2018. The material used was 50 Brahman Cross (BX) cattle. The research method used is a case study method and direct measurement. The results showed that the mean body weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage were 563.13 ± 37.23 kg, 282.19 ± 22.25 kg and 50.42 ± 0.42 kg. Assessment of Brahman Cross (BX) cattle in RPH was categorized as BCS with a value of 3 body weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of 492.67 ± 29.33 kg, 254 ± 33.97 kg, 52.30 ± 4.51% and categories BCS with a value of 4 of 568.14 ± 45.25 kg, 291 ± 48.05 kg and 51.24 ± 6.32%. The conclusion is the difference between respondents weighing and estimating body weight, carcass weight and percentage of carcass in BCS with a value of 3 at 5.43 kg, 3.63 kg, 2.04% and BCS with a value of 4 at 0.84 kg, 6.78 kg , 0.81%.
